The worst part of being reliant on the public transportation systems, thought Kingston, was the inability to do anything about when they are late. All the watch glancing in the world wasn’t going to make the confounded bus arrive any sooner. But he also knew the actual bus’s arrival would bring with it its own troubles and tribulations. Inevitably he would try and reserve an entire seat row for himself only to be joined by a predictably rude seatmate at the next stop. At best, he could hope for a chatty type, at worst, he could end up with someone who smelled of week old rotting fish. If only he had studied harder in school, he could have landed a better job that would have allowed him his own car and rental garage to park it in. But college was a time for women and drink and frivolity, all of which he deeply regretted as the bus turned the corner and headed towards where he was waiting…

Shot on Saturday 3-5-2011 at Edwin B. Forsythe Wildlife Refuge. Today was the D7000′s big debut at a “real” wildlife shooting scenario with lots of variety. To say I screwed up my settings for most of my still shots would be a huge understatement. Live and learn for the next time. I do think I was able to capture about a total of half an hour of kick ass 1080p HD video of several different species. I’ll be going through that footage on Sunday and editing it down to a reasonable series of short videos.

The new visitor center is complete and they did a heck of a nice job on it.
