I went driving around the farmland surrounding my town looking for old one room school houses on Sunday afternoon and found two that I didn’t know about previously. This one is on Bastian Road between Kutztown and Lyons Station, PA. It has been refurbished and the present owner has an interesting topiary garden in the front of the school house.
The clouds couldn’t make up their mind if they wanted to let the sun through or storm on me. I’m glad they left enough time for some shots of this old historical treasure. I believe thie school to date back to the 1800s but I’m going to research its history at the Kutztown Historical Society and see what I come up with.
I shot this as seven bracketed RAW frames at .7 stop increments and then combined them into an HDR with Photomatix Pro and finally, tone mapped that image.
