Mr. Knugen's dairy wagon rides again

Dairy delivery wagon similar to those that would have been in use in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Wagons would arrive at the train stations and railroad cars containing dairy products would be unloaded to the waiting wagons who would then make local deliveries to customers. Dairy products were kept refrigerated on the train by using large blocks of ice. Taken on Saturday 8-22-2009 at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, Strasburg, PA.

For more information on the museum, visit their web site at www.rrmuseumpa.org/index.shtml.

I shot this as seven bracketed RAW frames and then combined them into an HDR and tone mapped the image with Photomatix Pro before taking it into Photoshop CS4 and doing some work on it with onOne Software’s Photo Tools to give the scene a rustic antique look. I then used Photo Tool’s “paint out” brush to remove the effect from the wagon, revealing the underlying true colors.
