I started my day off by going up to Merrill Creek Reservoir just north of Phillipsburg, NJ in hopes of seeing some interesting wildlife up there. It was my first trip up there and it would seem that more than half the people I ran into on the trails had a dog with them. When I hiked out to the wildlife observation blind out near the lake edge, there was a group of guys with three dogs playing fetch in the water right in front of the blind. Thanks guys, that really made my day ! Who the hell brings dogs to a wildlife area and then ruins any chance of seeing and photographing wildlife for anybody else by playing fetch RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BLIND !?!?! Jeez.
Thankfully, I got home in time to hit the park and check out the ever entertaining Mallards. This week, we seem to have picked up four pairs of Canada Geese at the park. I wonder how long they will stick around.
