Going back through my 2008 archives, I found this a shot of this Bald Eagle yanking a crappie bass out of the river, part of a series I shot on 11-29-2008 along the banks of the Susquehanna River in Maryland. This was perhaps my most productive day of 2008 for Eagle photography.
From the monthly archives:

Mallard Hen flying over the frozen pond in Fleetwood Park on 1-25-2009.
I used a free snow texture by jaiel and blended that in as a background for more of an artistic effect in this image.
American Flamingo at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA. I created this image on 1-17-2009 trip to the Aviary.

This is “Ralph”, one of the two Brown Pelicans at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA. I took this on my 1-17-2009 trip to the Aviary.
Ralph likes to sit on either this watery perch or the one on the other side of the Wetlands Free-Flight room. While his buddy “Dexter” seems to prefer the shorelines.

Goose footprints embedded in the ice and snow at Fleetwood Park on Saturday, 1-31-2009. One of the things I am striving to do more of in 2009 is black and white compositions so here’s the first one of 2009.
Special thanks to Logotip for use of the free Smoky Light Beam texture I blended into this shot.
