Click here for a small gallery of photos I shot while at Promised Land State Park in Northeast Pennsylvania. I hung out at the Wildlife Observation Station on the lower lake for about twelve hours in total and all these shots were from Friday. It rained off and on during the entire day and all these shots were during rainy times so they are not the best. The only thing within photographing range was a Blue Heron who I spent about eight hours with on Friday hoping to let him feel comfortable enough to get closer to where I was shooting. At the end of the day, he figured he had had enough of the rain and flew off into the woods and finally got a chance to photograph one of these things in flight.
They also have a nesting pair of mature Bald Eagles across the lake that nest there year round. I could see them with the binoculars and I watched one of them fish while the other stayed near the nest. They were way too far away to photograph clearly though.
